Southampton Shiseikan Aikido Dojo

Southampton Shiseikan Dojo has been running since 1985. It is affiliated to the British Aikido Federation .

Who are the instructors?

Alex Megann (Sandan) is the chief instructor, and holds the qualification of "Coach" with the British Aikido Board (BAB). He started Aikido in Oxford in 1979, practising under Peter Megann and Kanetsuka Sensei. In 1984 he moved to Southampton, and has been practising and teaching since then.

John Bushrod (Shodan) and Peter Earnshaw (Ikkyu) assist in instruction. Both hold the BAB qualification of "Assistant Coach".

Where is the Dojo?

Mount Pleasant School, Mount Pleasant Road, Southampton. The entrance is at the rear of the school, down the stairs from the car park.

Practice times

Thursday: 7.30 - 9.30 pm. All welcome!

You can almost certainly find us after the practice at the New Inn, in Bevois Valley.

There are also classes at Southampton University Dojo .
