Ms. Christine Baker - Centre for Social Work and Social Carework Research

BSc Econ (Hons); R.G.N.; F.E.T.C.

Chris joined the Centre for Social Carework Research as a senior research assistant in 2006.  She is a registered general nurse and has a further education teaching certificate. Chris is also a member of the Interdisciplinary Research Centre on Ageing. 

Chris has had several years experience of conducting both qualitative and quantitative research. She is currently undertaking a PhD that explores the boundary between health and social care in relation to older people. Research projects that Chris has been involved in since joining the Centre include: 

  •  The Impact of Training and Qualifications for Staff on the Quality of Care and Outcomes for Older People in Residential Care Homes.
  • Culture and Climate in Community Mental Health Teams
  • Supporting reconfiguration of social care roles in integrated care settings in the UK: a comparative study across three health and social care economies.
  • International Recruitment of Social Workers and Social Care Workers in Wales

Research interests include; Primary health and social care of older people. Multi disciplinary team working.
