Dr. Tracey Sagar - Lecturer in Social Policy

Before joining the Department in 2004, Tracey has worked as a teaching assistant in Cardiff University and has lectured in Law for Swansea University.   Tracey was also a Research Fellow in the Centre for Public Policy (2003/4) in Swansea University.

Tracey is broadly interested in all aspects of criminal law, criminal justice and criminology. 

In 2004 Tracey assisted the Welsh Assembly Government to develop the All Wales Domestic Abuse strategy and also Good Practice Guidance for Schools. In 2006 Tracey and colleagues in the Law School at Swansea University carried out a first evaluation of the Neath/Port Talbot Domestic Abuse Court.

Tracey has also recently carried out socio-legal research with Emma Hitchings which looked at Social Worker perspectives on the adoption process. However, Tracey’s research to date has primarily focused on the regulation of street prostitution and in particular on multi-agency approaches to tackle street prostitution.
