Laboratory Skills (10 Credits)

Overview: An introduction to up-to-date training in laboratory safety, basic chemistry for bioscientists and commonly used laboratory procedures.
Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) (10 Credits)
Date: 16th - 18th May 2012

Venue: Swansea University
Training in the principles of GLP including GLP requirements and current legislation and implementation into a working laboratory environment
Essential Light Microscopy (5 Credits)
Date: 12-13th June 2012

The course will provide a grounding in the principles of light microscopy and frequently -used techniques used to examine biological samples.
Structural Elucidation and Characterisation (10 Credits)

Training in Mass Spectrometry (MS) including LC-MS and GC-MS. Working with analytical instruments and data analysis
Practical Microbiology (10 Credits)

Hands on training in safely handing, analysing and disposing of microorganisms and a comprehensive overview of the biology of microbes.
Molecular Techniques (10 Credits)
