War and Society at Swansea is a unique subject that utilizes the range of expertise in the Arts and Humanities.  Students can study the BA War and Society, UCAS course code L252 and a Postgraduate Taught Masters degree in War and Society. Both degrees aim to provide comprehensive learning in the understanding of war historically, politically and militarily, and its connection to society through the consideration of the cultural production generated by the experience of war.

The War and Society programme is closely connected to the research strengths of the academic staff who are actively involved in the Callaghan Centre for the Study of Conflict , an interdisciplinary research centre whose objective is to facilitate, co-ordinate and financially support the study of conflict.  The Centre promotes research through collaborative work, research seminars, informal reading groups, conferences, publications and also informs and enhances our teaching.

War and Society students enjoy a warm and friendly atmosphere at Swansea, all students have a personal adviser and the staff/student committee regularly organises academic and social events.
