Master of Research Degrees
The following one year Masters of Research (MRes) degrees offer an excellent platform for students who wish to pursue a PhD at a later stage. Both can be pursued on a full-time or part-time basis. These degrees consist of 60 credits of taught modules followed by a 120 credit research project/dissertation.
MSc by Research Degrees
The Department is offering a range of new postgraduate research degrees. The MSc by Research enables students to pursue a one year individual programme of research. This degree could, however, be used in a progression to Year 2 of a PhD degree. Being nominally a one year degree, this is distinct from an MPhil which is a two year degree. Current MSc by Research degrees include:
- MSc by Research in Aquatic Biology
- MSc by Research in Biomathematics
- MSc by Research in Environmental Conservation
- MSc by Research in Environmental Sustainability
- MSc by Research in Mathematical Ecology
