Swansea University - Working outside the UK after graduation

Returning home to work after your studies or working in another country

The majority of international students do not remain in the UK after graduating and many return home to their country of origin to pursue their careers.

For those who are considering moving to a country outside the UK and their country of origin there is some useful support information on the Prospects website which includes an international graduate jobs search page. Additionally, for those looking to work with the larger, well established graduate recruiters then many of these companies operate globally.  You should be aware that recruitment options and methods may differ from country to country and time should be made available early to research this information.

The NASES website offers country specific guides which are useful if you are a graduate returning to your home country, a placement student, or if you want to work in another country.

For those thinking of returning home there are many other things you need to consider. The University International Student Advisory Service  has excellent information on this including the principle of reverse culture shock.

In terms of moving on from the UK and pursuing a career, you should also try and take advantage of the Alumni Association  and the many links they have with Swansea Alumni all over the world.

GRADChina is an online guide that is only partly in English, but is of value to students seeking opportunities back in China.
