Scholarships, Bursaries and Prizes Competition
Undergraduate
Swansea University awards Excellence Bursaries to all Computer Science students who gain three grade A A-levels and make Swansea their first choice. Excellence Bursaries are worth £1500 for the first year, and £1500 for the second year.
We automatically consider all applicants for these awards, so there is no need to make a separate application.
PhD Studentships
The Department awards PhD studentships each summer. Five new PhD studentships were announced in Computer Science at Swansea University in 2011. Two of the studentships were linked to specific research projects; the others are being awarded for PhD studies in any of our main research areas: Graphics, HCI and Theory. Overseas and EU candidates were eligible for one of the studentships.
Information about tuition fees and University scholarships and bursaries can be found on the University's fees and funding page.
Potential candidates should preferably have a first-class Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a cognate discipline, or an equivalent or higher qualification. Queries may be addressed to Dr Oliver Kullmann.
Computer Science at Swansea University offers an active and stimulating research atmosphere for PhD students, with internationally-leading research groups in Graphics, Human Computer Interaction (HCI) and Theory. See also our main research web page.
