- Distinguished Lecture: Professor Brian Randell on Forty Years of Software Engineering. Joint History of Science and Technology lecture with the British Computer Society and the Learned Society of Wales. (1 Nov 2011)
- Domains X: This international Workshop on Domains was aimed at computer scientists and mathematicians alike who share an interest in the mathematical foundations of computation. Besides its traditional topics Domains X focused on the special themes Modelling Computational Effects and Modelling Continuous Data. (5–7 Sep 2011)
- The IBM "Smarter Planet Comes to You" tour has made one of only three UK stops at Swansea University. Throughout the day a Skills Truck was based on campus, enabling one to meet with IBM experts; 'play' with IBM's 'serious' games; and learn about new and exciting technologies. There were also various presentations by IBM and members of the Computer Science Department on research topics of relevance to the "Smarter Planet" theme. (17 Mar 2011)
- Invention, Innovation and Change - The Commercialisation of Science: Swansea University and the Learned Society of Wales welcome Professor Graham Richards CBE to a lecture that will explore the growing importance of commercialisation within science and technology, how this can be achieved without distorting activities and the advantages of spin-out companies and licensing. - Wales RIVIC Visual Computing Graduate School: A four-day meeting, bringing distinguished international scientists in computer graphics, computer vision, image processing, visualization, and other areas of visual computing together to share their expertise, knowledge, wisdom, and vision with young researchers (e.g. PhD students and PostDocs). (6–9 Apr 2010)
- Women Shaping the Future of Wales. Now in its 9th year, the event celebrates International Women's Day. It provides an insight into the diverse range of business and career opportunities for women in the 21st Century and offers a platform for sharing experiences, knowledge and best practice for women working with science and technology. - British Science Festival 2009: Members of the department presented work on the EPSRC-funded StoryBank project throughout the Festival. The exhibit was also funded by the EPSRC and our collaborator from India joined the team to explain how the work can impact rural communities. (5–10 Sep 2009)

- Computer Science in Action: Collaborative Project Fair. Final year computing students will showcase their project work on a range of topics, by means of display posters and live demonstrations. From software development to computer graphics, and communication technologies to future interactive interfaces, this event provides a unique opportunity to see some of the innovative research projects produced by Swansea University Computer Science students.
