ITWales

ITWales launched in 1993 as the industrial liaison unit of the Department of Computer Science, University of Wales Swansea. Initially the primary functions of the programme were to create awareness and understanding of emerging technologies amongst business in Wales and improve local graduate employment opportunities.

Through a highly successful student placement scheme, ITWales quickly established itself as a valuable resource for both students and businesses and has since developed its portfolio of services to include a business club, an online magazine, support for Research & Development projects, online training opportunities and most recently the provision of MSc bursaries for computing studies.

A highly skilled, professional team at ITWales now provides practical, accessible support to students and business across Wales, through a programme of activities specifically designed to nurture and support the Welsh IT industry.  Operating from both the headquarters in Swansea, and the satellite office, which opened in 2005, in the School of Computing at the University of Wales Bangor, ITWales is uniquely placed to identify the technological needs of business, exploiting its links with academia to help companies remain competitive, innovative and ahead of the game.
