Getting to the University: Meet and Greet Airport Pick Up Service

We want to make sure that your journey to Swansea is as smooth as possible so we offer a meet and greet airport pick up service at the cost of £10 per student from London Heathrow Airport (please note non-students will be charged £20 per person). Coaches will be available to transport you from London Heathrow to Swansea in 18 and 19 September 2009. We would encourage you to plan to arrive on one of these days to take advantage of this low cost service. Once you have been made an offer of a place to study at the University, formally accepted your offer and booked your flight, you can reserve a place on one of the meet and greet coaches. Click here to reserve your place.  Payment will be collected upon departure from Heathrow Terminal 3.
Unfortunately, we are unable to meet you if you arrive in the UK on a different date or at a different airport. In this case, you will need to make your own way to Swansea.

Travelling Independently to Swansea

If you are not arriving on the pick-up dates, or if you are arriving at an airport other than London Heathrow, you will need to make your own way to Swansea. Unfortunately the International Office is unable to make travel bookings on your behalf, however, we can provide you with information on the best way to get here.

From London Heathrow Airport or London Gatwick Airport: The National Express coach company runs buses directly from both Heathrow and Gatwick airports to Swansea. This is the cheapest and easiest way to travel. Transfer times are approximately 4 hours (Heathrow) and 5.5 hours (Gatwick). For further information please visit the National Express website.

From Cardiff Airport: Cardiff Airport is the airport closest to Swansea. There is no direct bus link to Swansea, however, you can catch a shuttle train from Cardiff Airport to Cardiff Central Station and from there, a train to Swansea. Trains from Cardiff Central Station to Swansea take about 1 hour. Further information can be found at the Cardiff International Airport website or at the Airport Information Desk upon arrival.

From Swansea Bus Station or Train Station: If you are arriving at Swansea Bus Station or Train Station, we suggest you take a taxi to the University. There are taxi ranks outside both the bus station and the train station. If you are arriving on September 19th and 20th 2008, University representatives will be operating a free minibus shuttle service from both stations to the campus on the dates of the Meet and Greet service.
