Aerial View of Campus with Beach

Originally established by Royal Charter in 1920, Swansea was the first campus University in the UK. The campus community is one of the principle reasons why staff and students love Swansea University. The campus has a friendly, close-knit appeal that encourages a welcoming and supportive community.

The University also enjoys a prime position overlooking Swansea Bay, the start of the  famously dramatic Gower coastline comprised of twenty-one bays and coves.  This section of the website will also introduce you to some of the University's key buildings and will tell you a little more about our location.

Expanding the University estate
The University is currently exploring options to establish a second campus within the region.

Full details of the planning process, together with details of the University's commitment to developing the Singleton Estate, can be found on the Campus Expansion pages.
