The Egypt Centre Hierogift Shop
The Hierogift Shop sells a wide range of different types of souvenirs to help you remember your visit to the Egypt Centre including pens, pencils and key-rings, statues, recycled glass, papyrus from Egypt, and for that extra special gift hand-made exclusive jewellery. The shop is located in the foyer of the museum.
We have a large range of small, inexpensive items, ideal for children, and visitors on a budget. These are ideal for our school parties. In advance of your visit we can also organise 'fun bags' with a selection of goods. Our cheapest product is just 20p (a small piece of decorated papyrus) and with many items £2.00 and under there are plenty to choose from!
Some of our products are made in Egypt such as papyrus, recycled glass, perfume bottles, scarves and statues.
We stock many books for children and adults these include; the 'Shire series' of Egyptology, Dorling Kindersley 'Eyewitness' books, Ancient Egypt Magazine, etc. We also produce Egypt Centre publications.
The shop also stocks products from local craftspeople. We have exclusive handmade jewellery by Sarah Elam, and the Jewel Fairy, as well as hand-made cards and art pieces by 'Elfmade Crafts'. Our jewellery is based upon an Egyptian theme, using stones and patterns often found in ancient Egypt.
The Egypt Centre Shop does not operate an online shopping facility, but if you have any queries about us and our products, please get in contact. Email me here at r.shields@swan.ac.uk , or you can ring the Egypt Centre on 01792 295960. We are open Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm.
