'Don your wig for a happy hour':
Sex and Gender in Ancient Egypt
'Don your wig for a happy hour' is a quotation from The Tale of The Two Brothers (P. D'Orbiney, BM10183). It is alternatively translated as 'Loosen your braids'.
Lise Manniche (Manniche, L., 1999, Sacred Luxuries. Fragrance, Aromatherapy and Cosmetics in Ancient Egypt. 129-130) discusses the erotic connotations of the phrase.
