This page is the text-only template indext.htm for all top level pages, i.e. those in directories at the / level e.g. /american/, /civeng/, /Science/. It should not be used at lower levels without modification - all images and links will be 'broken'. Further information can be found in the default graphics template.

Note the use of punctuation in this template, especially full stops at the end of every line, including links. This is important for those listening to the page being read by Web page reader software.

This table is an example of a typical section (Section1) linked from the menu items at the top of the page.

SubSection 1.1

Note the white space above and below each main section. It is important to preserve this, not only for visual reasons but also to enable the various sections to be selected and edited easily.

 

SubSection 1.2

SubSections can be formed in a variety of ways. One of the easiest is to use a Defined Term followed directly by a Definition as shown here. The Definition is indented by default.

A further section (Section2). No pictures allowed!

The inclusion of this standard section ensures that users have a consistent way of accessing contact information for each department and is a feature of the navigation strategy throughout the site.

The footer below this section is standard apart from the date (last updated) and the author/contact link which should be amended appropriately.
