Electrical & Electronic Engineering is an exciting subject which drives industry and modern life. From mp3 players to the internet and from global mobile phone networks to renewable energy sources, electrical engineering defines the world around us.
At Swansea we offer an exciting range of undergraduate and postgraduate degree schemes and at the same time contribute to world class research in nanotechnology, telecommunications, power electronics and biometrics.
The degree schemes that we offer are designed to give both the necessary fundamentals for a solid grounding in the subject and advanced concepts that enable our graduates to opt for careers in industry, research centres, government or as entrepreneurs. The School’s internationally-renowned research in power electronics, telecommunications, nanotechnology and biometrics feeds back into our courses to keep them up-to-date and relevant to industry. Our teaching facilities and laboratories are first class and we are proud that our teaching was rated “excellent” (the highest grade) in the most recent Teaching Assessment Exercise.
The latest official figures from the Higher Education Statistics Agency show that 87% of our graduates found work or were in Further Education within six months of completing their degree. This is above the national average of 85.9% for Engineering.
