The School of Engineering has a range of courses in Product Design for students who wish to continue Design and Technology beyond A-level. The main themes of our courses are Product Design, Computer-Aided Engineering Design, Materials Science, Manufacturing and project work with an industrial application. Product Design Engineering also covers the important engineering analysis subjects, while Product Design Technology goes deeper into material properties and electronics. This course is particularly suited to students with an interest in Mechanical Engineering, but who would prefer a more practical approach. The courses are structured to teach students how to take a product from the initial concept and design stages right through to production and manufacture.
