Summer programmes
Our summer programmes offer students the opportunity to gain valuable experience abroad during the summer holidays. These programmes are suited to students who are not able to go abroad as part of their degree, or for those who prefer to spend shorter periods away.

Where can I go?
Asia & Australia
China - Choose from diverse cultural programmes running in Dalian, Harbin, Weihai or Chongqing. You will have a chance to learn about Chinese customs and cultural differences. For more information click here.
India - We work in partnership with St. Joseph's College of Commerce (SJCC) in the centre of Bangalore, known as the silicon valley of India. For more information click here.
Australia - This is a once in a life-time trip visiting iconic Australian loctations studying one of the following topics Tourism, Business, Engineering, Environment, Media or History & Politics. For more information click here.
Africa
Zambia - In 2011 Discovery and the International Development Office worked in partnership to send a group of students to work in Siavonga in Zambia. We are pleased to say that this programme will be running again in 2012. Students should apply through the summer programmes application form. For more information click here.
Europe
France - Students can choose from a variety of programmes all taught in English. Choose from Loire valley city of Angers, Paris. or Rennes in the east of Brittany.

Application
How to Apply
Students must complete the application form and submit along with a reference to the IDO studyabroad@swansea.ac.uk
The reference is to be submitted with the application form. It must be from an academic at Swansea University, or from an academic from your previous institution if necessary.

Cost & Funding
The cost of each individual programme varies. Please check the specific programme details for full details.
Substantial awards will be given by Swansea University’s International Development Office to participants on all summer programmes. These will vary according to the cost of the programme and are restricted to capped programme numbers. Additional financial assistance will be given to ‘Communities First’ students.
Programme costs are subject to exchange rate fluctuations, cost will be confirmed March 2012
