Visiting and Exchange

Swansea University runs exchange programmes with Universities in many different countries. We have students from all over the world studying with us as an exchange or visiting student for either one year or a semester.  Here you will find information about coming to Swansea University through this route.  If you would prefer to study for a degree at Swansea, then please visit the International Students page or the Undergraduate and Postgraduate pages if you are a UK student.

Eligibility

If your University has an exchange agreement with us, then you can apply to come as an exchange student.  You can view our full list of partners here.

If your University does not have an agreement with us, then you can still come to Swansea as a fee paying visiting student.  Please click here for further information about this option. 

How to apply for an exchange

Students must be selected by their home University for exchange with Swansea University. You will receive detailed information on the application procedure and an application form from your home University's International Exchange / Study Abroad Office. 

Applications must be received by the application deadline or they cannot be considered. For Autumn semester:31st May; For Spring semester: 16th November.

How to apply as a visiting student

If you would like to be considered for admission during the 2012/13 academic year as a fee-paying visiting student please contact the studyabroad@swansea.ac.uk. For an application form. For more information please click here.

You will need to ask one of your professors at your university if he/she would complete the confidential reference on your behalf. 

As soon as your application has been received, it will be given prompt and careful consideration.

Further information

Accommodation - Visiting & exchange students coming to Swansea will receive help in finding accommodation from the Swansea University Accommodation Office. Places are available in University residences as well as in University managed flats and houses in Swansea. You will be given instructions on how to apply once we have received your application.

British Culture & Politics since 1945

This presessional course is taught over a two week period by an academic member of staff in Arts and Humanities at Swansea University. The course is worth 10 credits (3 US credits or 5 ECTS). Please note that classes and excursions are subject to change. Click here for more information.

Intensive English Language and Study Skills

This course is for you if you want to improve your general level of English and gain experience of academic study in English before starting your degree programme.

 The 2 week course consists of 48 hours of organised study including field trips to places of interest. Click here for more information.
