Subject Teams Service Aims

For each academic College within the University, the Library has a team of subject specialists. These Subject Teams liaise with the Colleges to provide library support for their learning, teaching and research needs.

Subject Teams aim to empower the learning experience of all students by:

  • introducing students to the Library, its catalogue and services;
  • offering advice and training in how to make the best use of resources in your subject area;
  • helping students find information for assignments, essays, projects, dissertations and research;
  • monitoring usage of key texts and ordering additional copies where appropriate;
  • acting as a point of contact for all subject-related enquires.

Subject Teams aim to collaborate with academic staff to empower the learning experience of all students by:

  • providing formal inductions to the library for all students;
  • providing information skills teaching to undergraduate and postgraduate students and staff;
  • advising on the acquisition of appropriate subject resources to supplement teaching and learning;
