How to locate and use online journals
iFind Discover the library catalogue
If you have a reference for a journal article, search for the journal title on iFind Discover (Swansea) or HIP (Trinity St David's) library catalogues by typing the name of the journal in the search box and selecting 'Journal title' from the drop-down menu to the side of the search box. Or you can use the A-Z Listing of Journals at Swansea University. Select the journal title from the list of results to see information about the journal and how to access it. If the journal is available online, you will see Full text available. Follow this link, which will take you to the iGetIT page. Check that the range of years available for electronic access matches your reference. Click on any of the links which cover the year you are interested in. The link will take you to the journal home page. Navigate to the article required by selecting either year or volume, and then issue number. Articles are either available as html or, more usually, as PDF files which require Adobe Acrobat.

Ingenta Connect provides online access to 1000s of journals across many disciplines and from many publishers, back to the 1990s.
PsycArticles (Ovid interface)
Access this resource (Athens account required. Select Journals@Ovid Full Text and then limit your search to PsycARTICLES).
PsycArticles includes the full text of articles from 54 journals published by the American Psychological Association, Canadian Psychological Association and Hogrefe & Huber. Coverage is from 1988 onwards.

Springer Link has a collection of over 400 journals published by Springer, Birkhäuser and Urban & Vogel. This collection is particularly strong in the fields of mathematics, engineering and the life sciences. Access generally goes back to about 1997.
