The Media and Communication Studies Department, in line with university policy, allocates a personal tutor to every student that joins the Department.

Your tutor will provide pastoral assistance and guidance on issues which may affect your well being, attendance and progress at the University. When problems arise, which may affect your work and attendance; your personal tutor will be able to advise you on the appropriate course of action.

It is important, therefore, that you keep in touch with your personal tutor and attend individual meetings, when you’re invited to do so, at the beginning of each term. Thereafter you may request a meeting with your tutor at any time which is mutually convenient.

The student-tutor relationship is confidential subject to University guidelines. Any matters relating specifically to course work should, in the first instance, be discussed with the course tutor.

You can find out who your personal tutor is by accessing your personal account on the University Intranet. If you are unable to find the name of your tutor, please contact the College Office.
