The Research Institute, RIAH, will bring together researchers and postgraduates across Swansea University’s School of Arts and Humanities to create a rich research environment geared to excellence and impact.

Invited guests were welcomed by Professor Richard B Davies, Vice Chancellor; Professor Noel Thompson, Pro Vice Chancellor - Research; Professor Helen Fulton, Director of RIAH; and Dr Mark Evans, Director of the Graduate Centre at Swansea University.

Speaking after the reception, Professor Helen Fulton, Director of RIAH, said:

“Supporting areas of research strength across the School, the Research Institute will provide an effective interface between high-quality researchers, external partners and user groups.”

Key activities to be undertaken by RIAH will include the established annual Public Lecture series and the ongoing seminar series in major research areas.

The Institute will also forge strong partnerships with other Schools and research groups in the University and provide support for individual researchers and teams to apply for external research grants.

In addition, the researchers will connect with external partners through knowledge transfer projects, consultancies, collaborative doctoral awards and an External Advisory Board.
