For the B.Sc. courses the typical offer is at least 300 points, with Bs at A level in Physics and Maths.
Students taking AS physics or AS mathematics who wish to apply to study Physics should contact the Admissions Tutor for guidance.
We are also pleased to consider alternative qualifications (e.g. BTEC, IB, Scottish Highers and Irish Leaving Certificate) - students with any queries should contact the Admissions Tutor for advice on their particular circumstances.
Mature applicants are very welcome; the entry requirements are more flexible and may include Open University Credits.
It should be noted that the B.Sc. Four-year integrated Foundation Year option has very flexible requirements and suits those applicants with inappropriate A-levels. Many applicants who enter at this level gain a good B.Sc. qualification. This widening access scheme is very strong, with many graduate success stories, and the department are particular proud of its record.
