Graduated in Mathematics from Leeds in 1981, and received his MSc in Statistics the following year. Previously a research assistant at Leeds. He joined the department in 1986, and completed his PhD in 1988. Teaching and research interests include reliability theory, the application of spatial statistical theory, and statistical computation.
