South Wales Chamber of Commerce
The South Wales Chamber of Commerce are a membership-based organisation, run by local businesses, to support local businesses.
The Chamber aims to strengthen member businesses and stimulate Welsh business prosperity through the provision of advice, guidance, support and training.
The Chamber facilitates networking allowing businesses to interact, collaborate and grow and represents Welsh businesses to enhance local, regional and national policy, standards and practices.
Confederation of Business and Industry - Wales
The Confederation of Business and Industry Wales (CBI) represents the country’s biggest employers, including 75% of anchor companies and a range of SMEs, and works to create the best environment for business and economic growth.
The CBI is the main business organisation working with the Welsh government providing a collective, progressive voice to government and policymakers on the key issues impacting business.
Business in the Community in Wales
Business in the Community in Wales (BITC Wales) are a unique business-led charity that champions responsible business.
BITC Wales work closely with more than 200 local companiesm ranging from small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to large corporatesm and aim to help Welsh businesses prosper through maximising the commercial benefits of responsible business practice.
Federation of Small Businesses
The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) is the UK's largest campaigning pressure group promoting and protecting the interests of the self-employed and owners of small firms.
FSB's aims to help smaller businesses achieve their ambitions and offers its members a wide range of vital business services including advice, financial expertise, support and a powerful voice in government.
Within Swansea Bay Branch, which includes Swansea, Gower, Neath and Port Talbot the FSB has 1300 members.
Institute of Directors
The Institute of Directors (IOD) Wales has a dedicated committee to assist businesses whether through representation or by organising events, seminars and conferences. The committee promotes business excellence through its support of training and development courses and annual occasions such as the Director of the Year awards. In addition, the division hosts a number of networking and social gatherings between fellow IoD Wales members.
The South Wales branch has around 550 members and operates an Ambassador scheme whereby members take responsibility for geographic and business areas. Information and market intelligence is directed into the main IoD Wales Office.
IntroBiz is the South Wales Independent Business Network hosting over 60 events across Cardiff, Newport and Swansea each year. Aimed at local business owners, directors, decision makers and senior management from a rich mix of business sectors Introbiz hosts a range of breakfast, lunch and dinner events.
