Swansea is Wales’ premier waterfront city and is set on the five-mile sweep of Swansea Bay in the heart of South Wales. Swansea was granted city status by Royal Charter in 1969 and has a population of approximately 238,700 (2013). Sitting at sea level with a total area of 237km2 Swansea covers almost 2% of the total area of Wales.
The city of Swansea has a diverse range of activities; 2 cinemas, a municipal golf course, 2 national museums, food fairs, bowling and swimming to name a few. Not forgetting the beautiful Gower Peninsula with its’ lovely coastline, castles, award winning beaches, gardens and walks.
