The Theology Public Lecture Programme at Swansea University was set up by the Reverend Nigel John, Senior Chaplain at the University and has featured internationally respected Church leaders and world renowned academics who have spoken on a whole range of different topics.  

The opening Theology Public Lecture of the new academic year will be delivered by The Honourable Mr Justice (Sir Jeremy) Cooke who is a Judge of the High Court of Justice and Judge in Charge of the Commercial Court.  This lecture is being organised in association with the Lawyers' Christian Fellowship.

More information: Jeremy Cooke was admitted as a solicitor in 1973 and later called to the Bar (Lincoln's Inn) in 1976. He took Silk in 1990 and was made a Bencher in 2001. He acted as an Assistant Recorder between 1994-98 and as a Recorder between 1998-2001. He was appointed as a High Court Judge, Queen’s Bench Division, in 2001 and to the Commercial Court in 2003. Sir Jeremy was appointed Judge in Charge of the Commercial Court in 2012.  He has been Vice-President of the Lawyers’ Christian Fellowship since 2003 and serves as a Lay Reader in the Church of England.  In the 1970's Jeremy Cooke played rugby union for the Harlequins.
