Hafod-Morfa Copperworks is pleased to be involved in Swansea Open House weekend on 14th September for the first time. We will be running two activities.

Guided walks of the site will be given at 11am, 1pm, 3pm and 5pm and will focus on the history of the site. You will be able to find out about the current work and future plans. Places are limited so please book by emailing s.m.griffin@Swansea.ac.uk.

A Fun Family Scavenger Hunt from 1-3pm. Drop in at any point between these times. Aimed at children of all ages with their families. The event will have an archaeological twist and involve families collecting photo’s and identifying buildings and features from maps rather than scavenging actual objects. All families will be entered into a prize draw for a voucher for a family meal at Frankie and Bennie’s. This event is co-ordinated by Glamorgan Gwent Archaeological Trust (GGAT) .

The events provide an opportunity to enjoy this much changed, fascinating and very pleasant site and get more involved if you want to. We also look forward to seeing you there!

We would also be grateful if you could help us to promote this event to your family and friends.

If you are willing and able to help out on the day, you’d be very welcome to get in touch too!
