Discovery, the Swansea University based volunteer-led charity, has received yet another accolade.
Chwarae Teg’s Agile Nation Project aims to support employers across Wales who are committed to providing sustainable, fair and progressive work practices. This year, the Agile Nation Project recognised Discovery in its Exemplar Employer Awards.
The award recognises organisations that have moved above and beyond the legal requirements in areas of equality and diversity in order to create a flexible work environment and equal opportunities for all employees. This is especially good news for would-be volunteers looking to join Discovery’s team of over 300 members, working on over 40 projects.
The Exemplar Employer Awards have been given to a select group of organisations in the public, private and third sector and it is very proud to be represented amongst them.
Discovery’s Manager Christine Watson MBE, who recently won the inaugural Mary Williams Award which is an individual contribution award that aims to recognise individuals for their contribution to the University’s culture and community, said: “Discovery endeavours to provide the best practice for its employees and volunteers, so that they can best serve the projects which it supports.”
