Less than four months before the opening of its new £450 million Bay Campus, Swansea University has announced a mass recruitment campaign aiming to attract new staff to help operate the services and facilities across the newly developed site.

Over 60 initial Campus Services vacancies are available at the Fabian Way site with Team Leader and Team Member roles across a wide variety of areas including catering, bars, grounds, facilities, customer services, sports and recreation.

The Bay Campus will accommodate up to 5000 students and 1000 staff when it opens in September 2015.

Professor Iwan Davies, Pro Vice-Chancellor said: “ Swansea University is a world leading campus based University.  Building upon its existing Singleton Campus located within a park near a beach, the new Bay Campus is a beach facing facility adjacent to a Site of Special Scientific Interest with European significance.  Opening in September 2015 the Bay Campus represents a £450m investment over two phases and is one of the largest knowledge economy projects in Europe providing internationally acclaimed scientific research and teaching facilities, including high specification and beautifully designed student residences.  Swansea University has built a new community which provides a whole life experience for students, staff and members of the public: the aim is to support a dynamic ethos in a location of outstanding beauty.

" There will be extensive catering provision throughout the campus to include cafes, bars and a restaurant, retail units include a mini market, laundrette and cash points. All of this will be in addition to recreational sporting facilities and a beach, for all to enjoy.

" With all these exciting new facilities and the opportunities on offer in a stunning location I can think of no better place for people to spend their working day.”

The University will be holding two Recruitment Open Days aimed at providing anyone interested in applying for a vacancy with details on the roles available, updates on the Bay Campus and information about working for Swansea University.
