The University can now display its recognition mark and certificate to show that it is a Meningitis Aware University.

Asad Rahman, Head of Advice, Support and Welfare at Swansea University said: “We are delighted to have received the Meningitis Aware Recognition Mark Award which demonstrates Swansea University’s commitment to student and staff health and wellbeing.

Recognition like this, on a national scale, reflects Swansea University’s belief that welfare is fundamental to a positive student and staff experience.  From our awareness-raising campaigns for new students to the behind the scenes work that goes into supporting students in confirmed cases of meningitis.  I extend my thanks to all staff and students who have had involvement with helping to share the message of the seriousness of meningitis in a university setting and the importance of getting vaccinated.”
