British Yeast Group 2016
The seventy-five registrants had a traditional international mix from the UK laboratories and a speaker from University of Ghent and the University of Tennessee Memphis. Talks ranged from biotechnology to fundamental eukaryotic biology and yeast as a model for human disease.
It also had the traditional Carl Singer Foundation session that is great fun and often the place PhD students give their first talk. The speakers have to include extra fun activities into their talk followed by generous prizes for the winners. All helped down with Mumbles Gold courtesy of Singer Instruments, a selection of the award winning Tiny Rebel Brewery from Newport and a great conference dinner in the National Waterfront Museum.
