On Tuesday 23rd September the inaugural Dr Janina Hopkin Medical Lecture took place, hosted by St David’s Medical Foundation in partnership with the College of Medicine.
The annual distinguished guest lecture was attended by staff and students from Swansea University and the local Health Board, who came to hear from guest speaker Dr Patricia Boyd from Oxford University.
Professor Julian Hopkin, Chair of Trustees for SDMF explained “SDMF is proud to have launched the annual Dr Janina Hopkin Medical Lecture at College of Medicine. Dr Tricia Boyd's lecture on "Birth Defects" set the tone for these external guest lectures for the future, and which will range across all of medicine and medical science."
Head of the College of Medicine, Professor Keith Lloyd added "I am very grateful to St David’s Medical Foundation for supporting the Janina Hopkin Lecture series which got off to such a great start this week in the College of Medicine and very much look forward to this event becoming a regular fixture in the calendar"
