Aurora - women only leadership development inititative

The University is pleased to offer a number of places on the Leadership Foundation Aurora programme for Swansea University staff during 2016/2017. Aurora is designed to enable a wide range of women, in academic and professional roles in higher education, to engage with leadership development at an earlier stage in their careers. The programme is an opportunity for any women ambitious for a career in the sector and interested in exploring leadership and management as one option for progression. Further information can be found at the following link: http://www.lfhe.ac.uk/en/programmes-events/you/aurora/

Aurora addresses core areas associated with leadership success: understanding organisations and the sector, developing leadership behaviours, skills and knowledge, identifying and overcoming barriers and obstacles, growing confidence and a leadership identity, and building networks, coalitions and support processes. This is a leadership foundation course and as a University we are committing significant resources to this.

Places for Aurora will be awarded through a competitive selection process. We will use a process of sifting to ensure that individuals are fully committed and are able to get the most out of the learning and apply it to the workplace.

To apply for a position on the Aurora programme please download and complete the Aurora Programme Application Form and email this to equalopportunities@swansea.ac.uk

Closing date for applications is Friday 30th September 2016.

For further information about the programme, there is a FAQ section on the Aurora page at http://www.lfhe.ac.uk/en/programmes-events/programmes/women-only/aurora/about-aurora/faqs.cfm

Marshall Online Training

All Swansea University staff are now required to complete mandatory bilingual 'Diversity in the Workplace' Marshall training. This is so that you become familiar with equality legislation, gain an understanding of the broader issues around equality/diversity and of your responsibilities and rights as members of staff.

University staff can access the Marshall training here. Please see the Marshall Guidelines for further information about the course and how to use it.
