On your first day you will need to access some services on campus, such as obtaining your Staff ID card.  This section contains information to help you when you begin your employment at Swansea University.

To help you find various locations, please refer to the campus maps below:

What you need to know

Staff ID Cards

For the purpose of security, all University employees are issued with a Staff ID card. Your ID Card will be issued to you by Library & Information Centre (number 7 on the Singleton Park Campus map). Please report to the Issue Desk in the Library & Information Centre between 10.00 – 12.00 and 14.00 – 16.00 Monday - Friday. You should take your appointment letter and a form of photographic I.D. along with you as means as identification.

To gain Staff Card access to your relevant buildings and barrier access for the campus car park, please go to the Estates and Facilities Reception on the fourth floor of Union House with your Staff ID Card and appointment letter or email cardaccess@swansea.ac.uk.

Car Parking and Travel

If you would like to park on campus, you need to obtain a car parking permit from the Estates and Facilities Reception on the fourth floor of Union House (number 18 on the Singleton Park Campus map).

For more details on obtaining a parking permit, the car sharing and staff bus pass schemes, as well as travel arrangements for the new Bay campus, please see relevant information here from the Estates Office.

Pensions

You will automatically be included in the Swansea University pension scheme on commencing employment with the University.  If you would rather be omitted from the scheme, please contact Jane Hurford, Superannuation Officer on extension 5353 to discuss this and all other pension-related matters.
