Induction of New Employees Policy
Swansea University recognises the importance of providing a timely and effective induction for all new employees, to ensure effective integration into the University, the College/Department and the role.
The aim of this Induction of New Employees Policy is to ensure that, from an individual’s first day at Swansea, the necessary information and support is provided to ensure individuals are given every opportunity to grow, maximise their potential and achieve required expectations within the agreed timescale.
This Policy is intended to provide:
- a structured induction to all employees; to welcome them to Swansea, provide initial training, explain required standards and set objectives for the probationary period
- in the case of employees undertaking teaching, supporting a structured development programme in relation to gaining Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy during probation
