Promotion process for Tutors and Research Staff

Research Staff Promotions

Any research staff who wish to apply for a promotion to progress as a researcher may do so using the current application form available here:  Research Staff Application

You will need to demonstrate a developing research portfolio and in your application you will need to evidence each of the criteria in the Research Staff Profiles which are all avaialable at:  

Role Profile - Academic Research Grade 7

Role Profile - Academic Research Grade 8

Role Profile - Academic Research Grade 9


The next meeting to consider applications will be in February 2018.  The deadline for submitting an application to HR through your Business partner is 31 January 2018.

 

These procedures are not applicable to Academic staff on enhanced research career strands who will need to apply through the academic promotion process: http://www.swansea.ac.uk/personnel/promotions/academicpromotions/ 

For Research staff (grade 8), who wish to move into academia as a Lecturer (grade 8), the appropriate route is via application and appointment to a Lecturer position. Colleagues interested in this route are encouraged to look at the academic career pathway criteria for a Lecturer role available here: http://www.swansea.ac.uk/personnel/current-staff/academic-career-pathways/

Tutor to Lecturer Promotion

 

Any Tutors who wish to apply for a promotion to Lecturer may do so at any time using the current application form:    Tutor to Lecturer promotion application

In your application you will need to evidence each of the criteria in the grade 8 Academic career Pathways available here
