Richard Lancaster, Swansea University coach said:  “ We are really pleased that so many players from our first team have been selected for representational honours and this again highlights the high standard of rugby at the University and the development players undergo whilst here. It is encouraging we now have players representing the University who are gaining honours at all levels.”

The Six Nations experience and training will help the Swansea University players in their preparation for the forthcoming Welsh Varsity match.

The Welsh Varsity head to head takes place every year between Swansea University and Cardiff University. This year’s Varsity match takes place on 24th April.

Over 25 events to find the deserving winner of the Varsity Shield take place over the course of a week. The centrepiece rugby “head-to-head” match takes place on the Wednesday evening in the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff. Over 14,500 spectators attended last years match.
