Mary Williams Seminar: Utilising all our talent. 5 June

Prof Jenny Martin, bioscientist, will be the speaker at the next seminar - "Utilising all our talent" - of the Mary Williams group, a senior women's network at Swansea University. The event is on Friday 05 June (9.30am – 1pm). The venue is the Council Chamber, Abbey building, Swansea University SA2 8PP.

Professor Jenny Martin is an Australian Research Council  Laureate Fellow, an honorary National Health Medical Research Council (Australia) Fellow, a laboratory head in the Chemistry and Structural Biology Division of the Institute for Molecular Bioscience and an Affiliate Professor in the School of Chemistry and Molecular Biosciences at the University of Queensland.

Jenny MartinHer research expertise and interests lie in the areas of structural biology, protein crystallography, protein interactions and their applications in drug de‌sign. Professor Martin is a strong advocate for equal opportunity and addressing gender imbalance in academia with a blog focussing on these issues, she is also a member of the recently formed Science in Australia Gender Equity (SAGE), an initiative of the Australian Academy of Science aiming to address the under-representation of women in science.

The event will also feature presentations from Professor Hilary Lappin-Scott, our Pro-Vice Chancellor, Professor Joy Merrell, lead of our University Athena SWAN Self-Assessment Team and Simone Bedford, lead of our Mary Williams Group (senior women’s network).

The event is open to all to attend and lunch will be provided.
