Professor Iwan Davies, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Swansea University said:

“The University will soon be opening its £450m Bay Campus in a truly stunning location next to a beach and near a site of special scientific interest.

“The building of the tidal lagoon will make this location even more special, enhancing the water sporting opportunities available and improving still further the unrivalled student experience we can offer.

“We also look forward to research collaboration with the Tidal Lagoon Company. Our research facilities are world class so for example at the Bay Campus we have Europe’s biggest wave machine in our new Energy Safety Research Institute which will facilitate careful modelling of tidal conditions enhancing future research outcomes.”
