Swansea University’s Institute for Entrepreneurial Leadership will be teaming up with Swansea Council and special guest, The Apprentice finalist Adam Corbally (pictured), to hold a young enterprise event at Swansea Market entitled ‘Flash & Banter’ on Wednesday (18th May).

The event forms part of the national ‘Love Your Local Market’ annual campaign. This year, the campaign focus is on attracting new market traders and encouraging youth markets.

The event is designed to provide the opportunity to engage with primary and secondary school entrepreneurs and help them to expand their knowledge and experience of what starting and running a business could be like.

The school groups taking part in the ‘Flash & Banter’ event will enjoy a tour of Swansea Market and be able to look, listen and learn about the different ways businesses present themselves. The schools taking part will include Birchgrove Comprehensive, Craigfelen Primary, Ammanford Comprehensive and St Mary’s Primary Bridgend.

Special guest, The Apprentice finalist Adam Corbally will be sharing his knowledge and expertise with a fun workshop and encouraging the children to try out their best cheeky banter to engage their customers. Adam started business life as a market trader and his infectious enthusiasm has made him one of the most popular motivational speakers in the U.K. today.

Following the event, the groups will be tasked with an exciting project to complete for presentation in June when representatives from the Welsh Government and Chief Executive of NABMA (National Association of British Market Authorities) will form part of the judging panel.   The winning team will receive a package of trading days in Swansea Market to develop their business further.
