Welcome to Classics, Ancient History and Egyptology in the Department of History and Classics at Swansea University.  The programme is the largest of its kind in Wales. We offer an unusually wide range of degree schemes, approaching the ancient civilisations of Egypt, Greece, and Rome from a variety of perspectives, through studying their histories, literatures, languages, and material culture. We are internationally recognised for our innovative teaching, the library provision is excellent, and we have unique centres for advanced research which inform and enhance our teaching. We also work closely with the Egypt Centre, a unique resource which houses some 3,000 archaeological objects, the largest collection of Egyptian material culture in Wales. We are committed to high-quality teaching, to continuing education, and to research and publication in Classics, Ancient History, and Egyptology.
