Nestled in the heart of South Wales, this industrial giant has been a cornerstone of the region since its inception. The visit provided a firsthand look at the beating heart of Wales and a poignant connection to a bygone era.
Visible from many teaching spaces on the Bay Campus, Tata Steel UK's Port Talbot site has long been an illustrative example in HRM teachings at Swansea University. The significance of the site was brought to life for the MSc HRM students as they witnessed the intricate processes that transform raw materials into the steel that is integral to the fabric of South Wales.
The immersive experience left an indelible mark on the students, who were captivated by the sights and sounds of the steelmaking process.
