In a momentous announcement, the Association for Information Systems (AIS) has revealed that Dr. Denis Dennehy, School Research Lead in the School of Management, has been honoured with the esteemed Sandra Slaughter Service Award for 2023.

The AIS Sandra Slaughter Service Award Committee, chaired by Sue Brown and comprised of AIS members from each of the three regions (Americas; Europe, Africa & Middle East; Asia, Pacific), along with AIS VP of Membership and Chapters Isabel Ramos, carefully deliberated before selecting Dr. Dennehy for this prestigious accolade. The award, a symbol of recognition and admiration within the AIS community, is reserved for only a select group of members who have demonstrated exceptional leadership and dedication to the Association.

Dr. Dennehy's outstanding contributions, particularly in the areas of participating in the Special Interest Groups (SIGs), and chapters, as well as strengthening conferences and actively engaging with AIS-sponsored journals, set him apart as a deserving recipient of the Sandra Slaughter Service Award. Denis is co-editor-in-chief of the Communications of the Association for Information Systems, senior editor of Information Technology and People, and he has edited many special issues related to his field. He obtained degrees (Ph.D, M.Comm, BSc.) in business information systems at University College Cork. This honour serves as a testament to his long-standing commitment to advancing the mission and goals of AIS.
